It's a slab of metal. So this isn't going to be a long review, but it's a nicely weighty and very well made slab of metal. Only slight niggle is that the screw it came with was a little short for my usage. I wouldn't feel happy with the number of threads left to support the camera. There is quite a lump of metal for the shaft to get through so that uses up quite a bit of length. I had another longer screw to hand, but it wouldn't hurt to include 2 or 3 different length screws in much the same way that in-ear headphones include a selection of tips to fit different ears ! That said, for the price I'm still giving it 5 stars.

I use it to attach my dslr to my heq5 mount as I have no scope at present, but this is excellent for holding my dslr in place for 1min to 2 minutes and longer at times

A good mount for a DLSR works well with my Canon 600d and 500mm Lens.
However my one gripe is it uses a 3/16 allen key to attach the camera, which is fair enough but, not every one (me included owns one of these and I had to buy it separately), I therefore believe it would be a nice touch to include one in the package.
FLO as usual provided an outstanding level of service as usual.

A no frills dovetail for photo plate, only let down by poor anodising hence 4 stars, but does the job.

As always great service from flo this little dovetail bar fits perfect to my dslr and now means I can track with it on my EQ6R pro simple 1/4 inch thread screws in perfect to the bottom of the camera.
Thanks flo

This is one of those products that isn't over engineered so it's cheap. It's a simple dovetail with a slot and a 1/4" screw in it. Slot enables you to slide your camera up and down for balance. I use it with the az-gti for travel astrophotography. It works well, it doesn't break the bank, no complaints. Be aware you will need an imperial hex key to secure the bolt that fits the camera mounting thread, something not everyone has kicking about.

I wanted to mount a Solarscope Solarview 50 on an old Celestron SLT mount to use soely for solar viewing/imaging. The Solarview has a flat base plate so I needed a small Vixen type dovetail with a flat mounting surface, which this has. This dovetail is a solid pice of kit, which I screwed onto the mounting plate with two screws.. Because it has a slot along most of its length, the scope can be balanced to suit whatever is on it and it is also solid in the clamp. The only downside for me was that, as this dovetail is designed for mounting a camera, it came with only one mounting screw, which unfortunately was too short for my application. However, a pack of two longer screws can be bought off the website.
