Brought this short Dovetail bar to equip my much loved & ageing well used 13 year old Skywatcher DS Pro ED80 to mount on a Heavy duty ball head on a benbo 1 tripod with scope mounted to the side on the ball head 👌
Perfectly balanced even with heavy Eyepieces because of 2 slots either side of tripod mount on dovetail bar for tube rings.
With this setup it's a lovely 7.5kg, grab n go scope for my ageing back 😎

Its a couple of centimetres shorter than the bar on the original TAL mount, but it was straightforward enough to fit the TAL 100R rings onto it. In turn, the bar fits the saddle on the Skywatcher GOTO mount perfectly. I am therefore very happy with this inexpensive product.

Purchased this to replace a SW bar that was used to mount a SY135/camera assembly. Looks identical to the SW item apart from the colour.

I needed a longer dovetail to achieve balance for my 'new' (2nd hand) refractor, but for various reasons didn't want to alter the spacing between the scope's rings - answer: a dovetail with long slots for maximum flexibility. Perfect.
I love dealing with FLO - the advice they're able to provide has always been useful and their delivery and returns setup is second to none.

The Astro essentials short bar is excellent, very solid and two long recessed slots to hide the cap heads. I only wish there was a longer version made in the same way in this range. Great value compared to other ranges.
