Thank you Ian I will continue as you suggest now. Comparison results of filters are available on request now. My comparison test using Eagle Nebula indicated that Oiii is fine, but Ha and Sii show a poor response within filter band and transmit more light outside band.

Ian,Thanks for that information. As an initial mechanical set-up I set the distance from the sensor to a mid-point of the reducer bdy to be 55mm. Re-measuring to the thread suggests that I had a separation of nearer 45mm.I have conducted one assessment, and using Pixinsight to solve the image and deduce the focal length. The telescope has a natural 650 mm f.l., and this is now showing 280mm f.l - i.e. bit over 50% reduction. I will make a small change to my set-up, actual value not important.

Thank you Alex! This is the most comprehensive and most helpful advice on astro gear I've ever had. Much appreciated. Having reviewed the per-pixel resolution and the Dewes limit for the SkyWatcher 127 and the tracking accuracy of the AZ GTi mount, I decided to buy just the AZ GTi mount and use it with shorter focal length lens/telescope. I will rely on the crop factor of the ZWO ASI 715MC to obtain a narrow FOW before I move to more substantial EQ mounts.

I was informed when I placed the order on 26 April that delivery would be 7 to 10 days. I was then sent an email in error, to say one was on its way, which it wasn't. Now I'm told it could be another 7 to 10 days? I feel somewhat let down.

Thanks for prompt reply. As a 'ball head' appears numerous times in the Star Adventurer 2i manual, but is isn't one of the accessories included with it, perhaps its desirability should be highlighted in the product description. Likewise, the Star Adventurer 2i tripod. (It turned out that my existing tripod wasn’t compatible with the tracker.)I don't want to have to pay £9 for delivery of each item I forgot to order initially.Does FLO actually stock a SW ball head? The only one I can find that looks like the one in the manual is an iOptron one.

Chris is a highly experienced astrophotographer, but unfortunately, Tom's original question was ambiguous. Initially, he referred to a flattener but then, in the conversation, changed this to a reducer. This caused some confusion.

When I tested it because the ra did not move during the last observation, it made a motor sound and the tracking did not rotate, so I opened the cover. As soon as I opened it, the broken part popped out. Even if it is a warranty period for repair, I do not intend to fix it by shipping it. It would be nice if you could find a replacement part for the belt

Hi Ian I think it needs you to sort this out I have done as you asked but the focusser itself does not work. I have also noticed paint is missing from the little screws in the same area at the bottom of the focusser which leads me to think that possibly this may have been apart previously. I'd been tearing my hair out (what's left of it!) trying to navigate MS "help" etc. to connect my telescope mini PC to my indoor PC via a cable. We apologise for the confusion. When you chased your order, we wrongly assumed the telescope must have been out of stock when you placed your order. But it was in stock, so it was dispatched on time when we reopened after New Year. All is good :-)
