Fits all Celestron 8″ OTA’s including CPC and HD models. Curved radius blocks and mounting hardware include. Intended for back heavy mounting configurations. Uses existing mounting holes in OTA. 18″ long, 1.72″ wide, .625″ thick, Wt. 14 oz.

All fittings included for Celestron Nexstar 8 Advanced. Am now able to move scope forward enough in mount for the clearance needed for 2” diagonal and lens….

I bought this bar to move my old Celestron Nexstar 8 from it’s original alt-an mount to my HEQ5. The product comes complete with all screws, shims etc and is quite substantial. FLO recommended this particular item as I wanted to mount my Skywatcher guide scope onto the C8 and the extra length enables the use of their Vixen style dovetail clamp and finder mounting shoe to the same bar. This approach doesn’t require the weight of another bar or the dangerous option of modifying the the C8 OTA.

Conversion is very straight forward and took less than one hour to complete and the C8 is very comfortably mounted on the HEQ 5.

Q1. Will the Celestron dovetail also fit the EDGE HD SCT telescopes?

Yes, the Celestron Edge HD and regular SCT telescopes share the same hole pattens to attach the dovetail.
