Astrophotography Performance
Very large 15000e full well capacity, 1.6e read noise @ 30DB and 12stops dynamic range @ Gain=0. Utilise modern firmware design to minimise amplifier glow.
Reliable Mechanics
ZWO's ASI183 Pro has the same mechanics as their ASI1600 Pro. Four screws seal the sensor chamber. The design has been extensively tested and is very stable.
Even when used in high humidity the ASI183 Pro will work fine, without dew problems.
High Speed
Fast FPS can be used for solar and lunar imaging, also for live viewing/EAA. The high speed readout is suitable for real-time focusing, true 'lucky' imaging of double stars and other small objects, planetary imaging of the major planets in the solar system, and more.
10Bit ADC
- 5496×3672 19fps
- 3840×2160 41.04fps
- 1920×1080 80.10fps
- 1280×720 117.30fps
12bit ADC
- 5496×3672 19fps
- 3840×2160 36.12fps
- 1920×1080 70.48fps
- 1280×720 103.23fps
High QE
Sony’s back-illuminated Exmor R technology delivers excellent Deep Sky performance. QE peaks at a remarkable 84%. In the Ha channel, QE is still over 60%.
Having high QE means more of the light entering your telescope is actually used. With 84% peak Q.E. and no less than ~50% within the visible spectrum, the ASI183 enhances signal quality.
Dark Current
The dark current of the ASI183 is extremely low, based on ZWO test results.
USB Ports
USB 3.0 Port: Provides 5Gb bandwidth making it possible to run the ASI183 Pro at 19 fps (12bit, normal mode) or 19 fps (10bit, high speed mode) at full resolution(20.18Mega).
Recommended cooler power supply: 12V @ 3-5A (or more) DC adapter (2.1×5.5mm, center pole positive). Also suitable: DC battery with 9-15V.
A 9-15V battery is also suitable for the cooler power supply.
USB 2.0 HUB: Can connect various accessories, such as a filter wheel, guide camera and electronic focuser, for easier cable management. The USB Hub draws power from an external power supply if you have one connected. Two short 0.5m USB2.0 cables are included.
ASI183MM-Pro Cooling
The ASI183 Pro has a 2-stage TEC cooling system that enables deep cooling (40°C-45°C below ambient). The cooler requires an external power supply - not included with the camera.

ZWO ASI 183MM-Pro USB 3.0 Cooled Mono Camera 14 June 2024 | Malcolm
I have looking to upgrade to this camera for a long time , not had the chance , until now which, I ordered from FLO ,I can thank FLO for the super fast delivey and plus suberd packed , I can set up ready for the winter nights , which I've not had chance to use it ,becasuse constent cloud at the moment , I will always give FLO 5 star for quick service & packed well.
very best to the staff at FLO keep up the good work + A
Great match for the Stellamira 90mm Triplet 17 December 2021 | Simon
After lots of help from the team at FLO on what camera to upgrade to from a modded dslr I went mono and so glad I did, this is a great match for their Stellamira 90mm triplet. Arrived next day and that night was clear ! Got an hours worth of data on M33 but only luminace as I hadn't ordered any filters. The final stacked image was great so much more detail and a lot less noise than my dslr. Can't wait to add some colour to the image with this camera.
28 September 2020 | Marek
As most of astrophotographers I've started with DSLR,than graduated to OSC and finally move to mono imaging. What a difference in therm of sensitivity. Absolutely amazing.Very low noise. Only word of caution here - because very small pixel size you are required to paired it with quality optics. Very happy with results.
Outstanding with a small refractor 31 March 2018 | M
I have used quite a variety of cameras over the years but this one has to be amongst the best. It is very sensitive (I have been getting very promising early results with an ear type approach with 15s subs and total integration of less than 10 minutes on arp galaxies) and the small pixel size plays very well with wide field refractors in the 500mm fl type class.
The quality of the camera is good and I would wholeheartedly recomment it.
