This is fairly solid and rotates easily without any wobble or tilt, so overall it does what it should.Mine however was the cause of a lot of debris falling on the sensor of my camera (Nikon Z6ii). Originally I had used the CAA on the scope before the Flattener and it was fine. As soon as I started using the CAA on the backend of my Flattener I noticed a lot of specks in all my photos (more noticeable in daylight shots). This camera had always been low maintenance but now was needing wet cleans very often. The specks did not all blow off. I finally traced the issue to the internal blackening in the Rotator which was flaking off badly. In the end I washed it all off with a toothbrush and IPA. Then I blackened it again with a permanent marker. So only 3 stars for a £100 piece of 'quality' kit.
I have been looking for a rotator for a while now because I was suffering from tilt in the imaging train, however I didn't want to to spend £500+ on the usual branded automated products out there. I think a lot of big brand names are missing a trick with these here as I actually mounted this to my Explore Scientific 127ed. Now with all the different adapters we can get our hands on we can essentially pick n mix brands with brands. It took a little fiddling with this and it was not cheap, but still cheaper than Pegasus as mentioned and I can really dial in rotation without introducing tilt. For me I required an M68 to M63 adapter I screwed this to the focuser of the ES127, then I screwed in the WO rotator, finally I needed a M63 to M68 Ricardi adapter back up to the ES 0.7 reducer or if you are not using 0.7 reducer you need M63 to M48. I should note that my scope does allow the focuser to rotate, but as mentioned these focusers are not great and tilt is a real issue with them. Overall well made and I definitely recommend for ES refractor users especially or any other scopes without a rotator.
Seams Sold peace of kit, not used yet. But not exactly cheap.
Great product, easy to install. does exactly what its supposed to do. 10/10 to FLO for great service and support.
ordered this rotator for my William optics zenithstar 81. It fits nicely to the scope. Overall purchase process was smooth and got the order as expected in only a few days.
It was expensive for such a simple device, but that is no fault of FLO. The enquiry when raised was dealt with quickly and delivered within 24 hours of ordering. It will really help in my astro imaging adventures. Thanks to FLO.
