Takahashi Mewlon 210 f/11.5 Dall-Kirkham Reflector
Takahashi have an enviable reputation for quality Japanese-made optics!
The precision of optical surfaces in the Mewlon 210 is at least of λ/20. This results in a strong concentration of light in Airy disc, resulting in high definition, high contrast, views.
The mechanics are impressive too. The Mewlon primary mirror, oversized compared to the effective aperture, is installed in a mirror cell especially designed to avoid the stresses that can cause astigmatism.
The focuser, a weak point in many other telescopes, has been machined to a high standard in Takahashi's workshops to reduce mirror shift. Overall the Mewlon exhibits a confidence inspiring strength and rigidity.
The integrated finderscope is interesting, optically it is impressive, as you would expect, but it is designed to act as a carry handle. Don't worry, it is good and strong. It won't bend!

The delivery times can be a bit off with Taks, when I ordered it was 7 days but then changed to 2 months. However, it was well worth the wait. Beautifully engineered scope with pin sharp optics in a fairly compact and light weight package. This scope punches well above the average 8inch scope once it cools down. It is an open tube so cool down here is pretty quick. Loving this scope.
