Tak focal reducer for M210
24 April 2020  |

First of all it has to be said that as with all Tak products this is extremely well made. There are no usable instructions with it as they all come in Japanese. There are however some issues that future purchasers need to be made aware of and that are not covered in the description. First of all the reducer by itself is not usable as you need to get an adapter with a male M54 thread and then either a 2" adapter or a T-ring to use it. The adapter seems to have been designed for use with film cameras and buying a M54 to 2" click lock adapter works but the lack of back focus means it can then only be used in visual mode without a diagonal and it is not clear that there is even enough back focus to allow the use of a digital camera or a CCD attached, even straight through, certainly my plan to put a spectrograph on it will not work I should perhaps have done some more detailed research on this before thinking it would fit my needs.

I would like to thank FLO for the service however despite the COvid-19 outbreak as they were very prompt in getting the equipment supplied.
