Sharpstar 15028HNT-AL f/2.8 Hyperbolic Newtonian Reflector

This new Sharpstar 15028HNT-AL features the same high-speed optics as the outgoing 15028HNT telescope but now has an all-aluminium optical tube for enhanced structural stability of the optical axis. 

Compared to a telescope with a focal ratio of f/4, the 15028HNT requires only around half the exposure time and delivers sharp, round stars within the 44mm full-frame imaging circle.

The 15028HNT-AL further enhances the structure stability of the optical axis of the primary mirror, and there are three sets of adjustment screws at the bottom of the lens tube for adjusting the angle of the primary mirror.

The hyperbolic primary mirror is made of Pyrex-alike glass PZ33. Its thermal expansion coefficient is smaller than that of ordinary glass. The dielectric multilayer coating gives the primary mirror a highly reflective ability of up to 97%. The diameter of the secondary mirror minor axis is 70mm, enabling sufficient illumination for full-frame imaging. The focuser has an integral corrector with a triplet lens design that includes an ED glass element for enhancing aberration correction.

The side of the lens tube has a finder base, which provides additional mounting positions for a finder scope or other astronomical accessories.

The 15028HNT-AL features an improved bracket structure on the secondary mirror to make it more stable. The secondary mirror bracket is CNC machined and designed with integrated manufacturing, so there is no misalignment to ensure beautiful diffraction spikes during astrophotography.

The 15028HNT-AL ‘s tube ring is sturdy and durable. Enlarged hand screws allow users to open and close the tube ring without additional tools.

The focuser* is a dual-speed rack-and-pinion large rigid focuser, which ensures a 2cm focusing travel as much as possible within the structural limitations and can be compatible with most motorised focusers. The front of the focuser is designed with a camera rotator that can rotate the focuser as a whole. The structure of the focuser is very stable and can carry 3kg.

The back focus of 15028HNT-AL is standard 55mm (from the M48 thread).

Supplied with a standard Losmandy-style 200mm dovetail plate and 200mm handle bar.

*The 15028HNT-AL focuser is shipped in a locked condition. Please be sure to loosen the locking screws before initial use to avoid damage.
