Founder Optics FOT86 Triplet Apochromatic Refractor
This premium Triplet APO refractor from Founder Optics was designed in Japan and is manufactured in Taiwan.
The fully Multi-Coated Triplet optics includes two ED glass elements, with a wide air space between each lens.
The FOT86 has outstanding colour and spherical correction. Views and images are sharp and have high contrast.
The FOT86 is machined and assembled to a very high standard at a factory with a long history and good relations with many Japanese brands.
Every telescope is tested, and an inspection report is included.
The FOT86 features a high-quality 2" Rack and Pinion focuser with two sets of 4 ball bearings between the drawtube and the focuser cover.
Once locked, the focuser drawtube maintains alignment with the optical axis.
Unique Lock Function– Heavy Loading Capability!
Founders lock design grabs the drawtube in two directions. This design ensures the focuser is always paralleled to the optical axis.
Max load capacity is 8kg.
The focuser also features a 1:11 Dual Speed focuser– which ensures high precision focusing and 95mm of focus travel, ensuring the FOT86 is very flexible and can accommodate most imaging accessories.
Focuser Rotator - The FOT86 includes a high-precision rotator that ensures collimation stability whilst rotating and allows the user to frame targets. You can also loosen the rotator and focuser knobs for the dual rotator and focuser rotation.
The FOT86 includes a sliding retractable Dew Shield with three locking screws for dew shield stability and alignment.
Includes a Field Flattener with a corrected 44mm image circle and M42 (T) and M48 threads.
