Optical Bench Test
FLO tests all William Optics triplet refractor telescopes before dispatch.
From the outset, you can be confident your telescope will have well-figured optics, negligible false colour and spherical aberration, and no astigmatism (the bane of any optical system!).
Star shapes will be round, not triangular, oval or egg-shaped!
The William Optics Fluorostar 156 is an apochromatic refractor telescope with a triplet optical design that includes an FPL53 extra-low dispersion glass lens with a matching Lanthanum element for outstanding colour and aberration correction.
Details and Features
Includes a WO-designed anodised CNC-made Handle Bar compatible with the William Optics Uniguide Guide scope.
The FLT156 features a 3.7" Rack & Pinion Focuser, which provides smooth, stable, and precise focussing with no image shift. It is compatible with the WO 3" Field Flattener.
Also included is a patented Bhatinov mask that is three times lighter than Bhatinov masks made with conventional materials.
Also included are a trio of beautifully anodised CNC-made tube rings and a Losmandy-compatible mounting plate.
The FLT156 is compatible with the William Optics Flat 6AIII - which provides the best image quality - the Flat 7A 0.8x Reducer/Flattener and the Flat-8 0.72x Reducer/Flattener.

The FLT156, like William Optics FLT132 and GT Triplets, uses a high-quality steel lens cell that is less prone to thermal movement and lens pinching in low temperatures. Nevertheless, we recommend storing the telescope in a dry place with a consistent room temperature when not in use.
