I purchased this scope last week and took it out last night for the first time. I upgraded from a 5" sct to this. The difference was immense. I viewed several different objects last night. M27 was so bright and clear. Sculptor galaxy very clear. The mount tracking and goto works so much better than the 5se I had. It was point on each object I slewed to. The 5se is not as accurate (the mount is beefier on the 6/8se so this might account for the difference?) Jupiter and Saturn were stunning. OTA did not require any collimation when first placed on scope and that was nice to start viewing straight away. I highly recommend this. It has a good aperture, it is compact and (as I dont drive personally) it is relatively easy to transport (I live on the edge of the Gower penisula and so my wife dropped me off on Cefn Bryn) and using a backpack (for OTA) and wheeled toolbox (for the mount and tripod) I could easily get to a nice clear spot.

I received the 8SE from FLO last week just before the bank holiday weekend and was delighted with both the service I got from FLO and the telescope. I was amazed at how easy it was to get the appropriate information into the hand set and to get it aligned within ten mins, which I considered quite good for my first time. I have not had a chance to get into any serious viewing as yet as the evenings have been very overcast but I have had a spectacular view of Jupiter and its moons so cant wait for clearer sky's. I did consider ordering up graded eye pieces at the same time as ordering the telescope but decided to wait and see what the standard ones were like. I was not disappointed as the eye piece that came with it is ok and will do for a while, however I will probably upgrade in the near future as I believe the NexStar deserves a higher end eye piece to reach its full potential. I would also like to say that FLO have been really helpful and answered my questions via email prior to my purchase and they will be my first call when purchasing bits in the future.
