Have so far used it only twice but easy setup in both Direct and Wifi modes. When paired with Skyportal on my ipad it made searching and aligning so much easier than using the supplied NexStar+ controller. A real bonus for a true novice Stargazer like myself.
Great accessory to get GPS and remote control 06 August 2020 | Ivo
Super simple to start using it, I just removed the hand control on my CG5-GT and placed the module in it.
On my phone, connected to the WiFi network and opened the Celestron Skyportal app. That's it!
I was even able to update the firmware through WiFi (with laptop)!
Celestron SkyPortal WiFi Module for IOS & Android 17 June 2020 | Neill
I purchased the Celestron SkyPortal WIFI Module for IOS & Android so that I can control my Celestron Nexstar +4SE from indoors and see the images as well from my WIFI connected Canon M50 on my windows 10 PC, it was packaged nicely and was easy to connect it just plugs in to the AUX socket (plug and Play) the Celestron SkyPortal WIFI Module came up in my WIFI connection list on my computer I connected to it and then opened the Celestron CPWI software and chose connect mount via WIFI job done. Excellent product if a bit pricy for a WIFI dongle but FLO is the cheapest price on the market.
I can now control my telscope in the living room for the first time 06 April 2019 | Mark
I managed to get it working with the Celestron Skyportal app within minutes and start controlling the telescope outside from the living room.
This makes it so much easier to control and not having to worry about pulling the short serial lead connected to the handset anymore.
I will try it with the new Celestron CPWI telescope program on the laptop .shortly
Great for when I take it to our astro society star party in August.
Very good kit, instructions not great..... 27 October 2018 | Ben
Works A1 once you know what to do. Used on Celestron Advanced VX mount, WIFI etc and App all work great, bit complex at first when aligning as there are a couple of options and the instructions are woefull. So Polar Align as normal, don't use the hand controller, switch on, connect to WIFI and select "connect and align" not "connect" and you are off. Agree the buttons on the IPad are not the same as the hand controller but they work good enough for me, the tonight's best view option is superb, my main reason for not being 5 stars is that there really should be better instructions for setup options, I still have some work to do here but sure that this will come with time. Martin at FLO however helped out as always to resolve my initial setup woes 😁

Well, a great addition to my astronomy set up! I am currently using an Explore Scientic David Levy Comet Hunter Mark Newt with Celestron StarSense on a Celestron AVX mount
Lots of research and reading astronomy forums preceded this buy, as I wanted to develop a wireless set up so I could both control my 'scope and 'see' images from indooors. So a Revolution Imager R2 was needed for the seeing part, and the Celestron Sky Portal to do the moving
I was cautious, many forums berate this device as unusable and not able to be used with the AVX. Not a bit of it!
I have set up the whole kit and controll d my telescope and beamed images from the Revolution Imager to my dining room! Just awesome.
So, do not be put off by the naysayers, this DOES work with the Celestron AVX, no question

Bought Skyportal for use with my Celestron 6/8SE Goto mount. It works brilliantly, and I control the mount using Skysafari 5 Pro, which makes selecting any object in Skysafari database so easy. Much easier than messing about on the hand controller. Also, Ike and position are also synced of your device (I use my iPad Air or iPhone 6+ for this), so that is taken care of too. Works a treat on my mount, and tracked Vesta easily in my scope using Skyportal and Skysafari. Well recommended!

Amazingly simple to set up and use. Gained best GoTo accuracy yet first time with the SkyPortal. App is also 5*.
