About this product
Model: stellamira_adj_2inch_1x_ff_m48
Part Number: K1.0Z-BU05
This useful non-reducing Adjustable Field Flattener enables DSLR astrophotography with most f/5-f/7 refractor telescopes.
It is optimised for DSLR cameras and telescopes with f/5-f/7 focal ratios.
It is also reported to work well with RC scopes and can be used with telescope focal lengths narrowly outside this optimised f/range if using an astronomy camera with a smaller sensor.
M48 threaded with an adjustable back focus from 55-80mm.
Fully multi-coated optics fitted into a CNC machined body with a gloss black anodised finish.
With this adjustable field flattener, changing back focus distance is easy. Twist to adjust, then lock it in place. Through experimentation, you can find the best back focus for your particular scope and then tweak it to achieve optimum field flatness across the entire image. A fine 0.5mm scale makes accurate positioning easy.
The recommended adjustment depends on the focal length of your telescope. This table is a good starting point for DSLR cameras that have a 55mm back focus:
Focal Length | Adjustment |
>1000mm | 55mm |
800-1000mm | 58mm |
600-800mm | 60mm |
480-600mm | 65mm |
400-480mm | 70mm |
