NEW updated SkyTracker Pro!
The SkyTracker Pro is a useful ultra-compact mount for photographers interested in astro-scapes or wide-field astrophotography.
This new, updated Pro model offers higher precision, silent tracking, and a built-in rechargeable power source that can run for up to 24 hours of continuous operation.
The precision polar scope has also been improved. It has the usual fine-engraved reticule but now features adjustable illumination with eight brightness levels. Used with iOptron's smartphone app, quick and accurate polar alignment is a breeze.
Built around an all-metal structure with ABS covers for enhanced stability.
The SkyTracker Pro features four tracking rates: 1X or sidereal, 1/2X for sky and landscape, and solar and lunar. All four work in both the northern and southern hemispheres. iOptron has also added a quick slew mode with both forward and reverse, so you can easily reframe your image without disrupting the camera's position.
iOptron has a significantly improved removable alt-azimuth base, which features a convenient bubble level, degree markings for altitude, and a built-in post for azimuth control. You can also mount the SkyTracker Pro head (without the base) directly to any standard photographic tripod with 1/4” or 3/8” threads.
NOTE: The tripod, Ball Head, and Counterweight Kit shown in the photos are not included but can be purchased separately.

Bought this to use with my carbon fibre tripod for maximum portability and it does a great job. I managed to get pin point stars taking 300 sec subs using my Samyang 85mm lens.
I like the new Black model which matches the rest of my gear. Highly recommend if you want greater portability for Widefield Astrophotography.
