Good product good service

I was concerned that my older eq5 tripod might require the pin to be filed but it fits perfectly and really solidly. A bit disappointing that the rubber grip on the top comes off very easily, this could have been a thicker and more sturdy grip given the cost.

First class service from FLO as usual. I have been after one of these for years but my EQ5 tripod has the fixed North pin in place which I believe the adapter would not fit over. Several reviews stated that it was difficult to file down the pin which put me off buying the adapter. I eventually decided I would have a go at sawing the pin off and was expecting a struggle but my power saw took it off cleanly. I then filed any rough bits off the top of the tripod and painted over the cut section. The adapter fits perfectly and now allows any camera mounts with 3/8th bottom threads to fit. It also allows me to use my fork mount and 100mm binoculars on a more stable platform than I had before and is great for the AZ5 manual mount.. Well worth the money.

With this accessory I have been able to attach my Seestar S50 to my old EQ5 mount. This means the Seestar is elevated for a higher aspect and also is at a height for more comfortable use.

Well engineered piece of kit, that fits well on my heq5. Well worth the money.

I acquired a Star Adventurer Mini Wi-Fi to have a go at astrophotography and found that there was need for a special adapter to allow use of an EQ5 mount. Internet references said that the "Puck" needs to be modified where the tripod's Head Locating Pin will engage so was expecting to have to modify this one offered by F.L.O. I was very pleasantly surprised to have the adapter arrive so quickly, and even more so to find it fitted perfectly with no modifications needed.
On fitting the SAM Mini WI-Fi mount I found that that it was not quite aligned to the North position on the tripod. I found there are two adjustment screws/ slots on the camera head to allow a few degrees of rotation on the camera head on the "Puck" but due to the offset screw holes in the "Puck" there is not enough rotation available to point to the N position. A minor issue which is resolved by rotating the mount, but may be a bigger issue if being fitted to a fixed pedestal.

It fits both HEQ5 and AZEQ5 tripods that I have. I used this adapter to use both of my tripods for AM5 mount

What a great item. Fits the Astro Essentials Alt-Azimuth Mount with Tripod item really well, also fits perfectly on my Bresser tripod that normally has my EXOS-1 mounted to.
