Excellent quality

As always from FLO, superb service and yet another top quality product at a very good price. Does exactly what I needed - sticking a small dob onto a camera tripod for a youngster who's showing real interest in the stars.

Perfect for the job
29 December 2020  |

Purchased to enable my Redcat51 to be counterbalanced on the declination axis of a star adventurer. Prior to doing so I contacted FLO to confirm its suitability. They provided an excellent and friendly service as per usual (I genuinely can't recommend this company enough!). The product feels very sturdy and high quality. Works perfectly for my application.

Solid clamp
24 April 2019  |

The clamp is bigger and more solid than I expected - which is great! I will be using this on my Skywatcher Star Adventurer mount, so making use of the photo-adapter thread. It has additional mounting holes if you wanted to use it with different mounts.

The clamp itself is a nice snug fit on my dovetail bar, no extra slopping around here! The main clamping screw has a very solid feel and a very smooth action when tightening and loosening. The smaller locking screw is also very smooth and has a solid feel to it, despite the smaller head.

Overall, I am very pleased, and this will enable me to get the DEC axis perfectly balanced!

Clamp that is great to use

I have been after a clamp to fit to my guide scope to make it easier to move to other scopes without having to use spanners. This clamp fits the bill. well made and well priced!

Baader Vixen Style Dovetail Clamp
26 March 2018  |

I bought this to add a second clamp to my Giro II Alt/Az mount in order to dual mount scopes. This clamp is very similar in appearance (apart from being black not silver) and layout to the existing TS one that I have been using. It looks and feels well engineered and finished.
Two M6 stainless countersunk Allen bolts (NOT PROVIDED) and it was on. One difference from the TS Optics item is that although the bolt holes have the requisite 35mm spacing the holes are a mite larger in diameter. I was initially worried that there would not be sufficient surface area on the countersunk M6 bolts for a good secure hold, however all seems well and very secure, at least my Mak 127 hasn't fallen off yet, I'll do an update if it does! All in all I am pleased with the clamp, it certainly very good value for money. If I have one tiny niggle is that I wish the main bolt knob which tightens onto the dovetail was larger, (like the TS item). Not a deal breaker, I would buy another if I needed one. Recommended.

Improving versatility of an eq1
15 June 2016  |

I bought this clamp to enable me to attach either a camera or a small refractor to an eq1. Normally removing scope and rings involves unbolting the scope from the mount. This clamp attached via a small drilled aluminium plate enables me to quickly swap between camera and telescope dovetails. The unit is sturdy and well finished.
