A straightforward, well-made M42 to 2-inch eyepiece holder/adapter.

Screws directly onto a male M42/T2 thread and accepts 2-inch accessories such as star diagonals, eyepieces, camera adapters, focal reducers, etc.

Compression-ring eyepiece clamp with two knurled thumbscrews for convenient operation, even when wearing gloves.

Astro Essentials M42 to 2 Eyepiece Holder used to update older OTA

This is a very high quality eyepiece holder with anti-marring ring and 2 decent locking screws.

I used this (with the 36.4mm to T" adapter) to update my old Vixen 80M from 0.965 eyepieces to be able to use my collection of modern 1.25 and 2 inch eyepieces, and to also use my 2inch Baader Herschal wedge.

I have the early 80M with the superior Japanese lens cell and it gives very sharp results so is worth the work to convert it.
Going to 2 inch means you need to shorten the OTA tube by about 50mm, but as it is an aluminium tube its easily done.
If you used just the 1.25 version you would probably not need to shorten the tube, but I wanted full usability of this classic but very good scope.
