Astro Essentials UV/IR Cut Filter

The Astro Essentials UV/IR Filters helps block incoming UV and infrared light from reaching the sensor of your CCD or CMOS camera.

Particularly suited to colour cameras with AR (anti-reflective) cover glass.

Most telescopes are poor at focusing Infrared or IR light. Visually this isn't an issue as the human eye cannot detect these wavelengths but if you are using your telescope for astrophotography then modern cameras are often very sensitive to IR light which can cause a blurred / degraded image. A UV/IR cut filter stops these wavelengths reaching your camera which can help improve your image sharpness and control star bloat.
