Takahashi FOA-60 f/8.8 Doublet Fluorite Apochromat Refractor
The FOA-60 is a traditional Japanese-made long focal-ratio telescope fitted with ultra-high quality optics and manufactured to a very high standard.
With a 60mm aperture, 530mm focal length and a fluorite glass element chromatic aberration you won't need to worry about chromatic aberration! And if used with the optional optically-matched FOA-60Q 1.7X focal extender, the focal length can be increased to 901mm (f15).
The spacing of the doublet elements is such that correction of spherical abberations is similar to that found in Takahashi's much larger TOA series.
The innovative design results in a Strehl ratio in excess of 96% for the base unit and over 99% with the extender!
Astronomy aside, if you have a room with a view (and deep pockets!) this telescope mounted on a nice wooden tripod is perfect!
The package version includes Tube Holder, 6x30 Finderscope and Bracket.
Like the Zeiss Telementor, the FOA-60 will surely become a classic.

Extraordinary Little Telescope 11 August 2023 | Philip
Firstly, I cannot praise the staff at FLO highly enough for the advice and support I was given while I weighed the pros and cons as to whether to purchase this scope. I had read numerous reviews and the views of many owners on several chat sites. One thing all agreed on was the extraordinary quality of the view that this telescope produced at all sensible (and not so sensible) magnifications and how versatile it is. I have now owned the telescope for about three months and can confirm these claims for myself. On a night of excellent seeing the view is superb. The quality of the instrument itself is also excellent, even for a Takahashi.

I’ve had this a couple of months now. as usual FLO delivery was rapid, and it was well packed - triple boxed - little origame wrappings around each of the components.
The scope makes a great grab and go, mounts nicely on a Vincent carbon video-tripod, and the whole setup can be carried one-handed. As expected, the views are super-sharp - pristine, and deeply contrasty. Absolutely delighted.
