This right-angled, correct-image finder scope is much more comfortable to look through than a standard straight-through finder and provides a view that matches the orientation of the sky or the orientation of the stars in star charts.
The large 50mm aperture, wide 5.4º field of view, and fully multi-coated optics make it easier to find and centre an object.
It is supplied with a finder bracket and a matching Vixen/Synta-type finder shoe (for telescopes that don't already have a suitable finder shoe).

Simple to setup, maybe not so bright? 23 September 2024 | Pietro
First RACI finder I used. With a Skymax 102 it definitely brings the joy of star hopping (the mak has a very narrow field of view). Maybe the optics are not so bright, in spite of the 50mm aperture. Possibly the prism? Compared to my budget 10x42 binoculars, I can see just a few stars with the RACI finder, while with the binoculars, I can see more. Maybe it's the binocular view. However, I assume that 8mm more aperture should bring more stars... In the RACI, the contrast is exceptionally good, and the black background is very black.
In summary, it makes my starhop with a mak, but maybe my expectations were too high in comparison with a binocular.

Super quick delivery. I was struggling with a red dot finder on my 8"dobsonian. This mounted into the existing bracket but the bracket supplied has an extra grub screw to keep the scope steadier so swapped it out. Immediatly easier to use the telescope with this finder. It has a nice sharp image with decent angle and v easy to line up to main scope view. Really pleased.

Stellalyra 8x50 Right angled finder 11 November 2022 | Dennis
Great bit of kit. Easy to fit and to use. Just one small point. The shoe did not quite match the curve on my Bresser Messier AR 102. This was fixed in two minutes with a
half round file.

I’ve been using a straight through finder for years, so this was a bit of a revelation. It makes finding objects on the zenith so much easier. My first target was M13, which was more or less overhead. I’d struggled with this a few days earlier, using the straight through finder, but with the RA finder it snapped into view without a problem. It comes with a shoe but I already have them on my telescopes, so this wasn’t needed. It takes a few seconds to align and gives a nice bright, clear view, so all in all a good purchase. Had the usual speedy service from FLO as well- thanks.

I bought this finder for my C8 i felt that the 8x50 would be better than the 9x50 of the skywatcher finder to get a little wider angle FLO is 5 star service.

I for one struggle with a red dot finder, it just seems to vague and imprecise, plus it's very awkward to view through when the scope is at any steep angle. Step up then this StellaLyra RACI and voila, what a difference!
Now I have a wonderfully clear and bright view of my intended target and works well, once aligned....no more cricked necks!
The scope itself seems well made and substantial, the only minus was the three different paint finishes between scope, mount and mounting bracket. Alignment did seem a bit fiddly initially but I think that's just me not used to this instrument.
FLO service and DHL delivery was first rate too.

Really makes finding/aligning objects so much easier. One could argue that these should be standard equipment on most scopes. I opted for this one over the Skywatcher because it matches my scope. Great build quality, super fast delivery from FLO, highly reccomended!!

Excellent optical quality, it is really good to see an erect image and the right angle prism allows far more comfortable use than with a findder scope without the prism and erect image. I attached it to my main scope using my existing brackets, but it wasn't obvious how the supplied bracket would allow it to be fixed on to the main scope unless the main scope had a specific type of corresponding mounting bracket.
