The Starfield Gear115 EDT f/7 Triplet APO is a popular refractor telescope that appeals to visual astronomers and astrophotographers.
Fully multicoated air-spaced triplet optics with an ED glass lens equivalent to FPL53 are housed in a sturdy temperature-compensated lens cell.
The telescope's 115mm / 4.5" aperture has around 32% more light-gathering ability than 100mm / 4" telescopes yet has a similar size and weight, so it sits happily on mid-sized astronomy mounts.
For visual astronomy, the native focal length is a useful 805mm (f/7). For astrophotography, a screw-on 0.8x reducer/flattener is available that reduces it to 644mm (5.6).
The CNC-machined 2.5" dual-speed R&P focuser features 1:10 gear reduction, 360° rotation and 5kg load-bearing capacity. It also includes a 2"-1.25" adapter.
A convenient retractable dew shield minimises dew and prevents glare from nearby lights.
Price includes CNC-machined tube-rings, a carry handle that accepts accessories and a Vixen-type dovetail.
A soft carry case and optical test report are also included.
