"It is the superb 150mm C6 Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube that affords this NexStar SLT model a certain prestige. Natively f/10 but capable of working at f/6.3 and f/1.95 with optional accessories, the versatile C6 strikes a balance between a manageable physical size and combining an impressive visual or photographic performance on a wide range of celestial objects." Brilliant scope and service 16 July 2020 | Lee
Firstly, I am a beginner to astronomy and astrophotography and the 6 SLT seemed like the logical next step for me after buying a basic Celestron astromaster 76eq.
A few hiccups with delivery and an issue with the mount. FLO, Steve and the team have been fantastic, having my mount fixed and keeping me upto date along the way. Also providing expert advice on where to go next including a possible ZWO ASI.
The scope is fantastic for the price, I am yet to use it to its full potential because of the weather but its been so easy to set up and use, and I managed some exceptionally clear views of the moon on the first night just through the 25mm eye peice. A great worth while upgrade from a basic scope.
Would also advise getting the celestron/SKYWATCHER portable power tank/torch and power cable from FLO also, alot easier to run the scope on.
Upgrade from 70mm refractor and I am very pleased. 24 April 2020 | Mark
Had a 70mm telescope as a gift and was only happy looking at the moon and land observations for fun. Bought this during Covid19 Lockdown and have only had a few clear enough skies to explore a little so far, but, wow, what a difference. Still waiting for the moon to make a viewable appearance but will probably add aCelestron f/6.3 Focal Reducer for wider sykky viewing. Waiting for WiFi module to arrive for full remote control and sky viewing. Great value reflector, Sturdy enough tripod (just). Easy focus. Overall very satisfied.
Great scope, very portable for maximum aperture 21 July 2019 | Stephane
I have purchased this telescope a couple of weeks ago and used it intensively for a couple of nights so I wanted to share my experience. The delivery was quick (I am in France) and everything was in good shape. Mounting and set up in the field is very quick and easy. I observe with other amateurs with equatorial mounts telescope and I am usually the first to finish. The Red Dot is not aligning very well for me but as you use it just for the initial alignment it is pretty easy to compensate.
The mount performs very well. Skyalign is done very quickly and from there you can go on a full tour and see a lot of objects. In my last session, I saw approximatively 45 objects in less than 2 hours with a nice night. The mount is light which is great for transport but indeed will wobble a bit when focusing. It will settle down after a few seconds and stays stable after. It might be a bit tricky when focusing but if you get the trick it is no big deal. Tracking is great and GOTO accuracy pretty good for such a light mount.
Visual quality is amazing for such a compact scope. Planets look great and many deep-sky objects can be seen. For some objects, my scope was outperforming a Skywatcher Newton F8, especially clusters and planets. Accessories are ok but recommend to upgrade the eyepieces as soon as possible. 25mm is fairly decent but the 9mm is a bit of a letdown.
Overall it is a great telescope package. It is very compact and lightweight making it a great combo for a very portable astronomy setup. Highly recommended.
