I didn’t get on with the enhanced motor drive kit so upgraded to full go to with this kit. It’s straightforward to fit and works flawlessly. Delivered next day by FLO.

Upgrade kit arrived on schedule. I have a Skywatcher 200 Newtonian mounted on a pillar in an observatory dome .

Although the installation instructions are not much help as others have pointed out, I was replacing a Skywatcher dual axis non GOTO drive kit I had installed a few years ago. That worked fine but faint objects were difficult to find , hence the GOTO upgrade. I already knew how the drive motors are fitted but for anyone doing this for the first time I found a couple of videos on YouTube which went through the installation process in sufficient detail despite being in languages I don't speak. That gave me reassurance and the installation went without much problem. I'm an engineer but anyone with average DIY skills should cope easily,

I connected a 12 V battery and everything worked first time. Again there are videos online to help with using the GOTO hand control. I learned about something called cone error from the manual and had to resort to YouTube again to find out what that was about. Since installing the kit I haven't yet had a clear night sky so nothing is calibrated so far but the GOTO function responds so should be fine once calibrated.

I plan to use a laptop eventually to control the 'scope and FLO were very quick to respond to my query about that. A separate cable is required to connect the drive to your laptop. Overall very good service again from FLO.

Purchased to replace the goto kit that had broken on a Celestron Advance GT the EQ5 upgrade kit fits perfectly to the mount it was also easy to install, I tested over three nights and had no problems it slewed correctly and tracked perfectly I recently brought the EQMOD cable to remove the handset and connect straight to my asiair pro and once again no issues.

Excellent customer service. I am very please with the purchase. Item has arrived on time.

Been doing visual and the occasional astrophotography for a few years now with my 200p Skywatcher. The EQ5 upgrade has opened a whole new world.

As always First Light Optics are my first stop for anything Astronomical. Great service.

The instructions provided with the upgrade kit by Skywatcher are a bit lacking, but a quick google and watching a couple of videos, I got the gist of it, and had it installed within an hour. Firmware was easy enough to update, but its lucky I am a Network Engineer as I needed my USB console cable to connect my PC to the SynScan handset.

Now I just need clear skies, to try it out.

I love it! Easy to install, not very noisy, built really well.. and must have for equatorial mounts without goto. Great product from a wonderful company. Highly recommend First Light Optics, and this GOTO product.

Bought this set up for a great polaris mount. Fit perfect. Ad others say, instructions are not the best. But one would think if you are doing this project you know what to do anyway. Put it together, works perfect. Gear. Backlash is less than original vixen gears. All tools provided also.
