I thought my heavy tripod would do the job for my Sky-watcher adventure gti, but not to be. So I ordered a new tripod, which is well suited for the job, this came well packaged. I also ordered the extension pillar as well. Again a first class service.

Decided to purchase to use as part of my EAA rig to give my AZI GTI mount more stability than its stock tripod- arrived timely and without issue.

Ordered this for a future AM5. It has 3/8 inch rod that will fit directly. I also got the PE200 extender from FLO and that also fits well with the included adaptor. Received my order in just 4 days and I am in Australia.

Finally a solid metal tripod! Some of the metal parts have a bit of a rough finish, but the point here is... metal. Not plastic. Good; very good!

Along with the AZ mount extension this mount has given me a very sturdy platform for my Skywatcher Solar mount and 60mm Coronado Solarmax telescope

I bought this tripod with mount extension to stick my star adventurer on. No more contortions to look through the polar scope. The tripod is solid and well made as is the extension. Should keep me going for a few years as I disappear further down the rabbit hole. Not had any clear skies yet.

This tripod provides the 3/8" UNC thread fixing (adaptable to 1/4" UNC with an extra accessory), required for the Ioptron Skyguider wedge (and others), supporting its system components and camera and lens/small telescope. Rock solid is an understatement, with tubular legs over 40mm in diameter that outclass the performance of most if not all amateur photo tripods, and at a fraction of the price of one that might. The two part legs fully extended provide a taller platform than tripods. Even fully retracted the 85cm height with legs splayed allows use of the built in Ioptron optical polarscope with less extreme contortions than usual in such systems, sighting Polaris at the steep angles resulting from UK latitudes. I am no weight lifter, but can lift and move the Skywatcher tripod, wedge, camera/wide angle lens and counterweight system with one hand and little discomfort. The only downside is that the tripod won't fold down to fit airline hand luggage requirements but it would be no problem with road transport to dark sky sites. Highly recommended.
