As the title states this is a great add on if you don't want your camera on a long refractor to hit your tripod legs. I can now track thru the Zenith without fear. Really lifts the scope up higher, may have to get a step stool to adjust settings. It makes the whole setup look really cool. Puts the mount at about eye level when I polar align and that beats hunching over and twisting screws. It is a cheap upgrade to a great mount. Get it!!

A must have if using a longish refactor! I was imaging one of the Barnard targets and my filter wheel in its configuration would hit the mount and hour before the meridian, also once flipped it would also hit which caused the plan to fail. This was somewhat annoying in losing at least two hours per night on the target, however no more with this extension, so one happy customer. I did have to google how to install it though I never knew you had to take the top off and hidden inside was the screw part. Also I have found it harder to PA than when its not there. I am not sure why this is I find when adjusting the bolts it requires a lot more input that could be the plastic pin used, but will need a bit of trial and error hence why marking down to 4, but overall a big improvement. FLO first class as always.

This is a solid piece of kit, built for strength and stability over lightweight portability.
It does a great job of raising your scope, very useful if you have a problem with a long scope hitting tripod legs with targets close to zenith like I have. It's probably useful for tall people doing visual astronomy with refractors, SCT's and the like.
Extra height and clearance without compromise.

Very quick shipping. Fits perfectly. As a side note the diameter and bolt spacing are the same as the 8" EQ6R pier so if you happen to own both the ends are interchangeable depending on the mount. I use both on Skywatcher and Twilight tripods.

Very useful and excellent finish

I have an EQ5 pro mount. My telescope is long so that so that I have to set limits in EQASCOM way short of the meridian otherwise the telescope will hit the tripod. The extension has totally solved this problem. It is very robust and provides a very secure attachment between the tripod and head. It is longer than I need so I may reduce the length sometime in the future.
