I have a Polemaster and have used it regularly on my old EQ6. So when I upgraded to an LX850 I found I could not use my Polemaster. I did try using Gorilla tape on the axis of the LX850 mount but I could not guarantee that it was flat and perpendicular to the axis. This is a shame as the Meade handbook (like all Meade handbooks) are rubbish and confusing on the polar alignment.

So I took a punt and order this. The larger clamp size allows it to be clamped onto the dovetail under the 12" OTA. The thing I have to ensure is that the OTA is correctly aligned, which you have to do to run a Meade polar align.

I purchased this bracket so that I could use the Polemaster as an electronic finder scope as well as for polar alignment. I can connect the camera to SharpCap after doing the polar alignment. The bracket is well made. It is fitted onto the dual saddle attachment dovetail adapter with a single screw, but seems stable enough. The camera is now fitted to the same dovetail as the telescope. It’s a pity you can’t buy the bracket separately as I already had a spare ADM dovetail adapter for a Vixen style dovetail.

Another very high quality adapter from adm. can be used for almost any setup but best suited to mounts without a dedicated polar scope mounting. I use it with a cge pro but it may also interest those with the cgx mount that also doesn't have a polar scope mounting.
