Paramount MKS6000 Upgrade Kit

Upgrade your Paramount mount with the MKS 6000 telescope control system (TCS).

The upgrade kit includes everything you need to install the new Electronics Box with the MKS 6000 PCB, including the HA axis rear panel, through-the-mount cabling and updated Instrument Panel.

Supported Mounts

Each upgrade kit includes the components necessary to install the MKS 6000 in your Paramount model. The following table lists the Paramount models, their manufacturing dates, and the mount identifiers for each model.

FAQ

Can earlier versions of The Sky Professional control the MKS6000 TCS?

No. Controlling a Paramount mount with the MKS 6000 TCS requires the latest release of TheSky Professional edition. If your software subscription is not active, you will need to renew it. Once renewed, you can download the latest TheSky installers and updates.

Does the MKS6000 Upgrade Kit include a renewal to The Sky Annual Software Subscription?

No. The MKS 6000 Upgrade Kit includes all the necessary hardware, cabling, and mount components to upgrade the mount. How to renew my software subscription.

When I order the MKS6000 Upgrade, what information do I need to supply FLO?

If the Upgrade is not in stock at FLO, please mail your mount’s identification number and FLO order number to questions@firstlightoptics.com. Software Bisque will use this number to look up your mount’s motor index angles and pre-program these values to the MKS 6000 firmware before shipment. For orders where FLO already holds the upgrade in stock, please follow this link to determine your Index Values.

Will Installing the MKS6000 Upgrade increase my mount's load capacity?

No. The MKS 6000 upgrade, stand-alone, does not increase the Paramount’s weight capacity. The total weight capacity of the Paramount MYT Series 6 and the Paramount MX Series 6 mounts is higher because of the mechanical changes to the mount design, not specifically because of the new MKS 6000 TCS.
