I'm currently in the process of replacing my dovetail bars with Losmandy plates as I prefer the design. As the rig it will be supporting cost over £3K, £45 for a solid, reliable mounting plate is not that expensive. There are other more expensive Losmandy plates available with more pre drilled and threaded holes but this one does everything I need it to at a reasonable price.
