A really well made focuser beautifully machined real quality. Bought it for my startravel 120,what a difference to the standard focuser,turned the startravel from a good scope to a great one. As usual brilliant service from FLO.

Straight out of the box this focuser feels high quality. He is a bit more heavy from the stock one but the AZ3 mount that come with the scope can easily support it without a problem. I use a 2" diagonal with 2" eyepieces and it works like a charm. Easy install… 3 screws out, 3 screws in and your scope is ready. Be sure to have allen keys (Size 2,5). With DHL the shipment came in less than a week from UK to Canada. That’s fast ! You won’t regret for a StarTravel 120mm. I highly recommend it !

I use my Skywatcher Startravel 120 OTA mainly for imaging. When I received the Crayford Focuser, I found that I could not attach my Canon DSLR camera using a T-ring to the new focuser. I wrote to FLO the next morning and Dave very responsively replied saying that I needed an extension adapter for attaching my camera. He referred in his reply the following link https://www.firstlightoptics.com/adapters/astro-essentials-2-40mm-focus-extension-t-adaptor.html which is the exact extension adapter I needed. From the time I emailed FLO to receiving the solution, it took a mere 13 minutes. Thanks Dave@FLO! Later in the afternoon, I removed the stock focuser from the scope and replaced it with the Crayford Focuser in less than 10 minutes. Different screw bits are required for removing the stock focuser and attaching the Crayford Focuser. Just make sure you have a comprehensive set of screwbits handy.

The quality of this focuser is amazing, As soon as you get it out of the box you can tell it's been very well made, Fitted to my sky-watcher 120 ota and it has turned an already amazing telescope into a top of the line model.

I ordered this from N.S. Canada on a friday night, It was delivered the following thursday just in time for a clear nights astro. Bought for the Starwatcher Star Travel 102. Once the terribad skywatcher focuser was removed. this slid right in and was in place in less than 5 minutes, no hassle, no sanding, no problems. extremely solid build, nicely anodized it has a confidant feel to it. the focuser action itself was a relief to use over the stock 'miss by a mile -both ways" quality that came with the Telescope. Fine focus was a breeze to achieve in comfortable movements, no stickiness no overshoots. The finder shoe displayed for purchase went on with no issues and was a solid fit. I have not used the rotatory function, but I'm sure it will come in handy in the near distant future. this accepted my SVbony field flattenter/focal reducer in the 2" with the copper band compression tube being a perfect addition for anti tilt fitting.
My image train consisted of the FF/FR to an ASI385 at 55mm with a rouz astro active cooling fan, and I encountered no sagging or slippage once focus had been achieved with a batinov mask and the focuser was locked from the underneath.
It is a little heavier than the stock version, but made this telescope a little easier to deal with, without any major guiding issues once calibrated.
I gave this 5 stars because I couldnt give it ten, and any company from Exeter UK that can shift a package to N.S. Canada in 4 working days has my attention! I cant even get that service in my own province..

Focuser is heavy with a good build quality and really easy to replace (3 screws on the OTA).
When I got mine and attached my camera and filter wheel on it, the focuser was still unable to pull itself up while turning the knobs (slipping), but about 1/8th of a turn on the tension-screw in the middle sorted that out. That was the very reason I wanted to replace the stock focuser.
Be wary that this focuser also changes the focus point entirely though. With the stock focuser, I had focus about 5 cm out, with this I had focus at a little over 1,5cm. Which means I could not use the rotator I bought as the focus point was too far in with the rotator attached. Once I removed the rotator, I had focus at the mentioned 1,5cm.
Would still recommend this one over the stock focuser. Good build quality and a huge improvement over the stock one.

It took quite an effort to fit this focuser to my st 102. Only one hole actually lined up with t the tube flange. Unless you are and accomplished engineer or craftsman don’t waste your money.
No matter how I tried the remaining screw holes would not align properly. It would require an enlarging of the two remaining holes to secure the focuser safely. Bad product.

First off, thanks to Chris at FLO for the speedy reply to my query about whether this would bolt onto my Celestron refractor. His advice, essentially, was 'keep calm and carry on'. The Crayford arrived about 10 minutes after ordering (not an accurate timing, but I'm am pretty sure FLO's rapid delivery times are violating several laws of physics). The Crayford focuser has a reassuringly solid build and, after a small time fiddling (it is a snug fit) it locked in place. I've lived with the factory standard focuser for a few years now - and finally the small tube movements and slippages were getting more than irritating. This has given my trusty 120mm refractor a new lease of life and contributes greatly to the viewing experience. The focuser is wonderfully smooth, as is the rotator action to bring the whole eyepiece assembly and focuser knobs into a comfortable position. I really don't know why I delayed. An excellent and highly recommended upgrade.

I was a little worried about fitting this to my Star-travel 120 after reading other reviews saying that it was a little too large and having to sand down the inside of the tube. However, I needn't have worried. The new focuser fitted absolutely perfectly and it only took me a total of 7 minutes to remove the standard focuser and put on the new one. Beautifully machined, the Crayford is so much smoother, accurate and has no give in it, as the standard focuser did. A rather expensive but totally worth it upgrade. Telescope needs to be re-balanced after fitting the Crayford as it is more sturdy and heavier than the standard Delivery was super fast. As usual. Thank you FLO!
