R-Sky Solar Observing Hood

The Observing Hood ('Monk' style) is a necessary accessory for any amateur astronomer.

This special version of the regular Observing Hood is designed primarily for solar observers.

The white colour of the outer surface reflects heat, making observations during the day more comfortable, and it has an additional inner layer of material to prevent bright sunlight from showing through the fabric.

Features include:

It enables you to keep both eyes open. This is a useful feature because when looking through the eyepiece of a telescope, you usually close your 'unused' eye, which makes observing uncomfortable. With this hood, you can keep both eyes open because its large size shields you from extraneous light, creating the effect of being fully immersed in outer space. This is especially noticeable when using a pair of wide-angle eyepieces.
The Observing Hood reliably and comfortably shields light, increasing contrast and reducing glare in the eyepiece. See more without buying a new telescope!
It can be put on quickly and easily, even in the dark, and thanks to its three positional shutter buttons, the hood fits any neck size. R-Sky has also taken the observer's seasonal clothing changes into account. The run of the shutters will be sufficient even when you're wearing winter clothing.
When not in use (while taking a break from your observations), you push the hood back by pulling on the top part.
Ideal for daytime and nighttime observation.
It is manufactured from high-quality cotton with a denim exterior.

R-Sky Solar Hood (a second purchase) as I own a Black one.

I purchased this White R-Sky Solar Hood, based upon the excellent performance of my now long owned R-Sky Black Hood.
My old one was made in Russia, the new one is now made in the USA, clearly world events changed where they were manufactured.
The quality is still very good indeed and it works well, far nicer than using the Black one in sunlight and an improvement on a towel.
Highly recommend this and other R-Sky items.
