Deep Sky Dad Flat Field Panel TS 70mm F5 Quadruplet
Making flats can be quite cumbersome, especially if you stride towards automation and simplification of the process. This flap panel makes acquiring flat frames with your refractor telescope part of an automated routine, without hacks like LCD screens, sky with a T-shirt, etc.
While you image, the flap panel is neatly tucked away next to the refractor tube. When you finish imaging, close it and turn on the (dimmable) LED light. You can adjust the brightness according to your camera responsiveness/gain settings and different filters.
We also provide an optional accessory for those in humid environments: a built-in heater integrated behind the LED light. This feature effectively dries dew from the LED panel and prevents moisture from seeping into the OTA when you close the panel in the morning.
But wait, there’s more! Based on your feedback, DSD improved a few crucial aspects of our flaps with the release of the FP2.
They have replaced the Micro-USB connector with a USB-C connector for more reliable connectivity, upgraded the MCU to ARM Cortex, improved the mechanics, and added advanced features such as obstacle detection, custom open position and automatic end position calibration.
NOTE: Our photo shows the product fitted to a similar-sized telescope, not a TS 70mm f/5 Quadruplet.
