About this product

Model:  dad_fp1_wo_gt81_noheater
Part Number:  FLAP100-103-82-W112.2_WO-GRA NTURISMO-GT81

Making flats can be cumbersome, especially if not part of an automated routine. The DAD flap panel makes making flat frames a lot easier.

While you image, the flap panel is tucked neatly alongside the refractor tube. When you finish, flip it into place and turn on the dimmable LED light.

You can adjust brightness according to your camera responsiveness/gain settings and filters.

For those operating in high humidity conditions, the DAD can also be purchased with an integral heater, to keep dew at bay.

Not a review, but great idea! Would love one of these with a Bahtinov mask instead of a flat panel
15 February 2022  |

I have no purchased this, but love the idea. As someone who has automated almost everything on my rig, the only part remaining is the manual act of putting the bahtinov mask on the end of the scope, focussing, then removing it for imaging. This would be able to automate that task too, assuming the flat panel could be removed (I don't actually use flats on my GT81, the FOV with my ASI533 is flat enough) .. so if DSD is reading this, I'd be interested in beta testing a bahtinov mask version !
