Features

  • 4-element superflat coma corrector for excellent imaging in the field and on the axis

  • Ideally suited for Newtonian telescopes with focal ratio f/4 - delivers very good results from f/3.5 to f/6
  • Very tolerant of tilting
  • The focal length is not changed
  • The focus position is moved outwards by 20mm
  • Camera connection via M48 thread
  • The corrector can be screwed to the focuser for better stability and accuracy. Connection adapters for cameras and focusers are available.

I have a Baader MPCC MkIII which I've had endless problems getting a back focus to suit my set-up, so I bought the TS 1.0x GPU from FLO. Fitted a Nikon adapter to it, put the body on (800E full frame), and plugged it into the the focuser. It gives you about 20mm extra focus extension so I made a guess at that and a few test exposures to get stars reasonably in focus before running auto focus in Astroart 8. Stars across the field all nice and sharp. I have some vignetting at the corners so not completely filling the full frame format but that is probably more to do with the secondary mirror size on my Newtonian. I'm only intending to use this with a APS-C format astro camera so the Nikon full frame was a bit belt and braces to make sure there were no isses. Highly recommend.

Q1. Can this coma corrector be used with a 2" filter?

This has a 2" thread built into the nosepiece of the adapter. This will accommodate a 2" filter.
