I thought I'd right a review from a different viewpoint as there aren't many reviews about using telescope's for calcium k imaging. The telescope gives fantastic views on the monitor and image's when used with a calcium k filter. The focuser is well made and adjustments made via viewing the monitor screen. Calcium K line wavelength really isn't a visual wavelength as it's near the ultraviolet part of the spectrum but can be seen using a webcam and monitor. If you're looking for a telescope for this kind of thing then this really is a great scope.
For the money, I don't think you can go far wrong with one of these scopes. The build quality seems very good and it seems they have elected to spend more on the scope itself and save on the accessories but it's unlikely to be someone's first rodeo so buyers will probably have better already. As a bonus, it came with a solar filter that wasn't mentioned anywhere, so that's a new field I'd not really considered trying now open to some extent. Very little in the way of plastic in the construction, and it feels pretty substantial: only the finderscope mount feels a bit flimsy and vulnerable hanging off the side a fair way as it does. Focusing mechanism isn't bad out of the box, and the upgrade to make it better is less than half the cost of upgrading a competitor's to a Crayford.
