About this product

Model:  unistellar_evscope2
Part Number:  UREVSCOPE2

Following their successful eVscope Equinox telescope, Unistellar has introduced this NEW eVscope 2 in partnership with Nikon.

The eVscope 2 combines Smart telescope technology with Nikon's optical expertise to deliver an immersive space exploration experience.

Leveraging Nikon's pioneering expertise in electronic eyepiece design and with a 7.7 MP enhanced, the eVscope 2 delivers the most stunning visual experience ever seen in a consumer telescope. It offers state-of-the-art observing comfort, incredible detail, definition, image resolution and zoom ability.

Unistellar’s Smart telescope design enables stargazers worldwide to explore the wonders of the Universe from their backyards (even in light-polluted skies) without prior experience.

Powered by Unistellar’s proprietary technologies (Enhanced Vision, Automated Field Detection, Light Pollution Reduction), the eVscope 2 is the most powerful consumer space instrument and offers a new user-friendly experience of deep-sky exploration. With unmatched speed and accuracy, the telescope reveals galaxies, nebulae, comets and other celestial objects millions of light-years away with unparalleled colours and details – even from the heart of a city.

With this user-friendly Smart telescope, those new to stargazing can discover the night sky and grow their skills. Experienced astronomers will benefit from a portable device that can quickly hop from one object to the next and collect valuable scientific data that helps our understanding of space. Outreach professionals and educators can delight audiences with fast, sharp, colourful views of the Universe.

Discover the beauty and secrets of the Universe.

The low-light, high-resolution sensor captures light from objects located millions of light-years from Earth and delivers pin-sharp image definition and a wide field of view. Using cutting-edge technologies (Enhanced Vision and Super Resolution), the eVscope 2 reveals deep-sky objects in seconds and allows observers to enjoy, with crisp details, colossal space objects like the majestic Orion nebula.

Out-of-this-world observing experience in partnership with Nikon.

A defining feature of the eVscope 2 is the electronic eyepiece developed by Nikon. It combines a best-in-class micro OLED screen to enhance contrast and deliver a perfect black image with a sophisticated array of lenses sourced from Nikon’s expert optical labs. The new eyepiece delivers captivating, immersive observation with rich contrast, better observing comfort, and eye relief.

Powerful scientific device with a global community of observers

Because the eVscope 2 can be used to conduct valuable space science, with every new user comes a new Space Explorer, fueling Unistellar’s evermore powerful global array of connected telescopes, each capable of delivering scientifically valuable observations. Partnering up with astronomers from the SETI Institute and other institutions, Unistellar Explorers can protect Earth by detecting a hazardous asteroid, discovering and confirming the existence of a hot Jupiter around a distant star, or even uncovering the mysteries of a comet or supernova.

As part of the Unistellar Network – the first global community of connected telescope users, 5,000 strong and counting – users exchange dialogue with professional astronomers and space aficionados. Hear about projections, plan observations, get help capturing a target, and receive actionable tips for collecting and submitting data. Learn about light curves and data modelling, have their observations confirmed, and see their data put into action through charts, visuals and even 3D prints.

Enhanced Vision

Enhanced Vision is patented proprietary technology that allows live observation of faint objects thanks to the live accumulation of the light we receive from them. Galaxies, nebulae, and comets finally become visible, colourful, and detailed.

Depending on observing conditions (light pollution, moon phase, weather, etc.) and the objects you are pointing at, it can take from a few seconds to several tens of seconds for you to start seeing the beautiful colours and shapes of galaxies and nebulae normally invisible, even through the eyepiece of a large conventional telescope.

Autonomous Field Detection

The eVscope 2 ensures more time for exploring space and less time setting up or calibrating. Our system instantly recognises the objects in its field of view by comparing what it sees with a coordinates database of tens of millions of stars. This makes the eVscope 2 automated tracking and pointing system highly accurate and easy to use, making it the most user-friendly telescope on the market.

Autonomous Field Detection also allows it to inform you about what you are observing (distance from the Earth, etc.).

Smart Light Pollution Reduction

Light pollution renders celestial objects invisible to the human eye and conventional ‘direct-view’ telescopes because the human brain cannot filter, process and prioritise light sources. Even cameras and computers are challenged by light pollution, which creates “noise” in images, blurs objects, and distorts shapes. Creating crisp, beautiful images can be challenging or impossible when faced with light pollution.

Unistellar’s proprietary software mitigates the impact of light pollution and allows for distant objects to be observed in crisp detail, even from bright inner-city environments. For each observation, Unistellar’s technology swiftly identifies background light and automatically filters and removes this unwanted light, delivering the best possible image parameters and results. Users benefit from more precise images with better contrasts and colours, regardless of the sky's brightness level (urban light pollution, moonlight).

Dedicated app

With the push of a button and a tap of the app, your eVscope 2 recommends the most spectacular targets and launches into deep-space observations in minutes.

With a catalogue of over 5,000 objects, the app allows you to learn about and identify cosmic objects, including which objects are best positioned for viewing from your location. With your connected tech, you can save and share your experience with others—in person or virtually.

The Unistellar app provides captivating educational content and automates the observing experience so that novices can enjoy their device immediately. It also offers manual controls for advanced users.

Optional Bespoke transportation backpack

Similar in size to a 50L hiking backpack, the Unistellar backpack is carefully designed to fit snuggly to the eVscope 2, making it easy to transport both the eVscope 2 and its tripod, enabling astronomy to become nomadic.

The backpack is made of rugged reinforced fabric and carefully padded with high-density foam to protect the telescope from shock. It also includes a removable rain shield.
