1. With an eyepiece - the Barlow increases magnification by 2x.
2. With a camera attached for astrophotography - useful when you want to increase magnification or where lack of infocus is a problem.
3. With the Barlow lens cell removed - the remaining body and nosepiece can be used as a straightforward, non-magnifying camera adapter or a 1.25" 34mm focus extension tube.
4. The removed Barlow lens cell can be screwed directly to any eyepiece, imaging camera or webcam fitted with a 1.25" nosepiece (via the filter thread). When used this way, the gain in magnification varies according to spacing.

Haven't had much chance to use it - mostly due to the weather. It appears to be well made and works well with my low-powered Plossl eyepiece. Not so good with my higher power BST StarGuider eyepiece but this may be down to the seeing conditions. It has the added advantage that it can be used for an approximate 1.5x magnification by removing the lens cell from the Barlow and screwing directly onto the filter thread of your eyepiece. Also can be used to attach your camera (with appropriate T-Ring) with or without the lens cell for astrophotography.
Good Barlow for the Price 26 January 2023 | James
Bought this Barlow as a part of my starter set up to pair with my zoom lens and have been pleased with the quality for the price. This Barlow will clearly not be as impressive as some of the more expensive versions out there is some noticeable dimming of the light getting through, but it is all relative - as an entry level item at this price point the quality of this Barlow seems great value to me and will last me for some time to come.
And the service from FLO was great as always.

I ordered this as a Christmas present for my husband, who had received some very helpful advice from First Light Optics. Service and delivery were prompt and efficient. The item has not yet been used (as Santa hasn't been yet!).

It's got a bit of weight to it, feels much better than those plastic ones. The lens itself unscrews from the housing, looking forward to seeing if I can use it with a t adapter to achieve prime focus with my dslr. If not, happy to have a good quality, affordable barlow.

I have only had one night to try this out and initial thoughts are I am happy with it. The main reason for the feedback mind was the service from FLO, ordered in the afternoon, received the following morning, all in this case for £2-95 postage. Excellent.

Well priced and well made piece of Astro kit.

This piece of kit is great when starting out. It enables you to double your arsenal of eye pieces with out spending loads of money. This was a great help to me as I’d just spent all my money on buying a scope and was the cheapest option to expand.
This was brought as a package I put together. FLO were excellent to deal with, and will have customer loyalty going forward from me.

I can't comment to much on this item as i have only just started to get into astronomy, but will say (the item appears to be well made ,and does what it is supposed to.),there are better Barlow's out there for a much higher price, but for someone starting out ,and not wanting to pay loads of cash for one just yet, this would be a good starting point i feel. Be carfull where you buy from especially auction sites as cheap can be a bad investment.
