Askar are now pleased to introduce their new 3nm Colour Magic Narrow Band Filters
Askar’ s newly-launched Colour Magic 3nm deep-sky narrowband filters are a professional astrophotography tool specifically designed for deep-sky imaging.
Compared with Askar's 5nm deep-sky filters, this filter set has a narrower 3nm bandwidth ideal for use in areas with urban light pollution, night glow and other undesired light.
The narrower bandwidth and efficient light transmission considerably enhances the contrast in your pictures, also enabling better quality results to be obtained in strong moon light.
The Colour Magic 3nm deep-sky narrowband filters have very good halation control, providing more contribution to your astrophotography.
Sii Filter Features
The Askar 3nm SII filter has an ultra-high transmittance over 90% at its center wavelength (672nm). The highly narrow 3nm bandwidth ensures this filter for astrophotography effectively blocks out light pollution or other distracting factors such as night glow.
Askar SII filters can effectively capture targets of emission nebulae, planetary nebulae and supernova remnants that release SII particles. The deep red light emitted by SII has a very different character to the light emitted by the surrounding H-alpha, giving totally different image detail when compared to the H-alpha region.
The 3nm bandwidth and high transmission at the central wavelength allow the Askar SII narrowband filter to enhance the contrast and detail of images of emission nebulae, planetary nebulae and supernova remnants.

Ha Filter Features
The Askar 3nm H-alpha filter has a center wavelength of 656.3nm, where it has an ultra-high transmittance of over 90%. The narrow 3nm bandwidth ensures this filter effectively blocks out light pollution or other distracting lights such as night glow. Thus the Askar H-alpha is very suitable for using in areas with serious light pollution. The Askar 3nm H-alpha filter can alsoeffectively enhance the contrast of images when shooting under dark skies.

OIII Filter Features
The Askar OIII narrowband filter is very suitable for shooting nebulae and supernova remnants that release OIII particles.
The Askar 3nm OIII narrowband filter has a center wavelength of 500.7nm, where it has an ultra-high transmittance over 90%. The narrow 3nm bandwidth ensures this filter effectively blocks out light pollution or other distracting lights such as night glow. Even in areas where there is severe light pollution can it ensure the imaging quality. And when shooting at some dark places, Askar OIII can effectively enhance the contrast of images.
The specific design of 3nm OIII filter gives it very good halation control, making the stars sharper and rounder.
