About this product
Model: hel_lightquest-hr_10x50_30141
Part Number: 30141
These traditional high-end Helios LightQuest-HR observation binoculars offer bright, sharp, high-contrast views.
Perfect for stargazing!
Features include high-index BaK-4 caged prisms and a fully broadband multi-coated optical system with light transmission equal to or exceeding 90%.
The eyepiece design is also impressive, with eight elements in five groups and oversized eye lenses. The views are vibrant, flat edge-to-edge, and virtually distortion-free. They have robust individual eyepiece (IF) focusing and fold-down rubber eyecups for spectacle-wearers.
The fully waterproof (IPX7 standard, 1m depth for 30 minutes) body is nitrogen-filled for clear, fog-free operation. The magnesium alloy skeleton makes the binoculars rigid and surprisingly light.
It is supplied with objective lens caps, an eyepiece rainguard, a neoprene neck strap, and a heavy-duty tripod adaptor in a durable padded fabric carrying case.

A high-quality observation binocular 10 April 2019 | Richard
The design and build quality of these binoculars is excellent and preliminary casual daylight observations revealed a sharp and high contrast image. The fold-down ‘rubber’ eyecups allowed me to see the full field of view whilst wearing spectacles, however, when they are turned down, the ‘rainguard’ will not fit. The clear dioptre markings on the barrels of each eyepiece made pre-setting to a known focus distance easy and when focused to infinity they aligned accurately with the zero marks. The prisms are cage mounted and all optical surfaces, including the prisms, appear to be well anti-reflection coated. At night-time these binoculars perform really well. Stellar images proved to be very sharp on axis and over much of the field, being only a little less so near the edge. Poor seeing has limited the amount of testing carried out on diffuse objects but they do appear well defined and have good contrast. In my view the Helios LightQuest HR 10x50 is an excellent astronomical binocular either hand-held or tripod mounted and at £269 it’s a bargain.
