About this product

Backyard Universe Upgraded Secondary Mirror Spider for Sky-Watcher 150mm Newtonian Telescopes.

This secondary mirror spider is manufactured on a modern CNC machining centre from matt black anodised aluminium (EN AW-6061), suitable for Skywatcher 150 P/PDS/Quattro.

The high-precision manufacturing ensures the 1.8mm thick struts of the spider are perfectly aligned, and diffraction-related spikes on bright stars appear razor-sharp.

The collimation stability of the 6" Newtonian is also significantly improved thanks to the light, stable design optimised by FEM simulation.

What's In The Box

Backyard Universe Secondary Mirror Spider for Sky-Watcher 150mm Newtonian Telescopes
29 February 2024  |

The Backyard Universe Secondary Mirror Spider for Sky-Watcher 150mm Newtonian Telescope is an excellent addition to my Skywatcher 150 Apo Astrograph, complimenting the 150mm Backyard Universe carbon fibre tube, as I use the telescope, mount and tripod with battery pack as a mobile device I have already noticed the lack of requirement to constantly colimate, which makes this purchase essential. Brilliant product especially with the carbon tube.

expensive but worth it

The major plus for me was the extra stability this spider offers for the secondary. This will help keep the mirror in better collimation for longer. Also , gone are the days of twisted spider vanes. Havent had the chance to check diffraction as I am currently experiencing the wettest July since 1960!!
A well made product backed up with FLO fast post
