Best dew shield ever, Period! It is fitting perfectly and protects my optical train (Hyperstar included). It is very sturdy and practical, cable management included.

Certainly, a must have accessory for C11. More so, when using with Hyperstar lens. It helps to control the unwanted stray light very well.
Although the rubber seal on top of the the hood is a bit unstable and needs to be better glued to the body.
Well, not to mention it makes your C11 look even bigger to impress curious neighbours!

This dew shield fits my RASA 8 well. Clamps down snuggly. Very little light leakage. A bit fiddly at first to get all the cables to fit.

I was super happy with my purchase of my 2 Celestron Aluminium Dew Shields with Caps for my RASA 8 and EdgeHD 8 along with the 2 Dew Heater Rings within 6 days from Exeter UK to Caves Beach NSW Australia. This was after my frustration with my local Aussie supplier who has promised stock over the last few month but can never deliver. Well done First Light Optics

I was hesitant to purchase this new dew shield from the Celestron range knowing that I'd need the C14 version which is at the top of the expense ladder for these shields.

This was really a last ditch attempt to deal with issues around light pollution from some LED street lights ringing my garden as well as general house light pollution in the neighbourhood.

The shield is very large, but light in weight, and is nearly the length of the C14 OTA. It is extremely well made, has excellent cable management and clamps the OTA really tight- it is not going to fall off even when the telescope is less than horizontal. The inside finish is a lush dark velvet and it has a tightly fitting aluminium cap. The rigidity is top notch with a superb finish and some spare decals which can be used wherever you want. The smaller aluminium Celestron flashes did peel off- the glue was either badly applied or they were bent in slightly the wrong shape- I may need to use my own cement on these- however that's a very minor point.

Being so deep that it produces excellent flats with no light leakage. It is best to use a really dim panel and take advantage of the protracted length with a panel balanced on top of the shield to minimise any effects caused by to bright a panel which can cause the light to bounce around and produce flats that perform badly. No such issues with this shield as the length keeps the panel far away from the corrector plate and any errant relections if you go dim. By using ND 1.2 films on my ELP panel I'm able to get away with 7 second L subs which produces great calibration.

I'm inpressed with the tightness of the fiting and the break out of cables through the cable management routing system.

I wish however is was not so expensive- it does the job really well however the cost may put off a lot of potential buyers especially if you plan the full dew management setup offered by Celestron which would run to nearly a £1000.00 if you went for the 4 port dew controller and corrector plate heater ring. It would of course be a bit cheaper for the smaller OTA offerings however the 4 port dew controller is really expensive for the features offered.

FLO delivered quickly as usual. Installing is straightforward but be ready to rebalance your scope as the shield weights 4.8kg. I recommend you use a dovetail sliding counterweight as it may need to come off for collimation, corrector cleaning, taking flats or hyperstar maintenance (unless you have very long arms and are very tall!).

As usual excellent from FLO which is why I continue to buy from them despite Brexit complications. The shield is well made and so much more stable than the flexible shield I have been using. Plus it will make flats easier as I have a RASA and balancing a light pad on the flexible shield was not ideal. Note there is enough give in the aluminium to allow the use of the BuckeyeStargazer Cable Router.
