About this product

This infrared distance sensor is perfect for checking if the mount is properly parked or not with Dragonfly.

It can be placed at any convenient position in the observatory (usually attached to the pier) so the IR light reflects off some point of the OTA or the counterweights, only when in the safe (parked) position.

Depending on the reflecting surface, it may be necessary to place a bright white piece of plastic (or similar) to make detection possible.

Lunatico recommend you route the power of the sensor through one of the Dragonfly’s relays so the unit is active only when measuring is required – usually before opening or closing the roof.

Cable length: 1.50m. 

Detection range: 20 to 150cm
